Sept. 19 - World of Outlaws, Eldora Speedway. Shaffer 20th (DNF) in Eldora A-main.

It was a bad night…….In the A-main Tim lined up in the 19th position and by lap 22 had worked his way up to 14th or so when Jason Meyers and Craig Dollansky got together somehow causing both cars to flip violently right in front of The Steel City Outlaw. Tim spun the Aaron Call Motorsports #83A to keep from hitting Dollansky. The #83A of Shaffer did flip over gently in the process but Tim was uninjured. Dollansky was transported to a local hospital with a right arm injury. I hope he’s ok. I heard it was a nasty crash.

Next up for the Call Motorsports Team is tonight (Sept. 20) @ Freemont Speedway. This event is paying twenty thousand to win.  GO TIM!!

The Call Motorsports Team was fast in Indiana. Tim timed 3rd quick (49 cars) he finished fourth in heat race #3 and 2nd in the Fast Dash. In the A-main Tim lined up 3rd and after 8 laps was leading, unfortunately for Shaffer in all ended on the last lap (while leading) when Blake Feese got into him taking them both out of competition. Aug. 30 - Attica Raceway Park - O’Reilly All Star Circuit of Champions. Shaffer 3rd in Attica “A”.

It was another solid performance for the Call Motorsports Team. The Steel City Outlaw timed 5th quick with a 12.097. Tim finished 6th in his heat race which sent the Aliquippa PA Native to the B-main. The #83A crew made some needed changes to the Aaron Call owned Kistler powered J&J before the B-main and it paid off.  In the “B” the #83A car was working really well and Tim grabbed the second spot sending him to the main event where he would start 11th. In the finale Shaffer stayed focused, kept his elbows up and the GAS peddle to the floor and when the dust settled he was 3rd. 11th to 3rd, great run!!

Aug. 16 - O’Reilly All Star Circuit of Champions, Riverside International Speedway, Shaffer 21st in West Memphis, Arkansas A-main.

Shaffer qualified the Aaron Call ride third quick from the 30 cars entered with a 13.624. In heat race #3 Tim finished 2nd. In the fast dash The Steel City Outlaw nabbed the win! With the track taking rubber on the bottom that’s where most of the cars were running. At the start of the A-main the inside rows took off and outside pole sitter Shaffer was shuffled back to 7th. With three laps to go The Call Motorsports 83A was sitting third when the caution came out. Tim said, “In order to pass I was running (the top) where everyone wasn’t” and added “I went there to win, so I was pushing it as hard as I could and spun”.

Tim will be behind the wheel of the Jenkins #55 (360) tomorrow (8-19-08) @ Williams Grove Speedway. GO TIM!!

8/6/08—48th Annual Knoxville Nationals; Qualifying night #1, Knoxville Iowa. Hard crash dampens Shaffer’s chances @ Knoxville.
The Call Motorsports Team night started out good with Tim circling the famous ½ mile Speedway in 15.420 which was 14th quick from the 54 cars. However that all changed in heat race #4 when Knoxville Newbie Carl Wilson got sideways in the first turn collecting Doug Esh, Troy Little, Kerry Madsen, Chad Layton, Tim Shaffer, Randy Hannagan, and Tony Bruce Jr. Only Bruce Jr, Hannagan, and Esh were able to restart. Tim was ok, but the Aaron Call #83A was done for the night. The Call Motorsports Team has already assembled a new car. Tim has another shot @ qualifying for the main event this Friday. GO TIM!!
